Enhancing high school students listening skills through the use of podcasts.

Abstract

Abstract: This study Enhancing high school students listening skills through the Use of Podcasts aimed to find out if podcasts can enhance listening skills students' in EFL classrooms. This research was carried out in a public school in the province of Loja and used a mixed-method approach, which included quantitative and qualitative analyses. The sample for this study consisted of sixty third-year high school students. The instruments used during the data collection stage were a questionnaire, an observation sheet, a pre-test, and a post-test. The findings revealed that the introduction of the Podcast tool significantly focus on the improvement of listening skill. Podcasts are an effective tool to improve listening skills, since during this study the students who participated improved exponentially with each interaction and practical activity, this was evidenced in the constant interactions in addition to the improvement in the grades obtained in the post-test.
