Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to identify the diversity of flowers and fruits of the main agricultural species existing in orchards, crops and farms in the Loja canton through photographic records. For this, between 2019 and 2020, field trips were made to various points of the canton where different photographic captures and measurements of the species found were made, showing the size and color of flowers - fruits. As a result, 46 agricultural species belonging to 18 families were identified. With the information collected, a photo-guide entitled "Flowers and fruits of agricultural species in Loja: A tool for the management and administration of plant diversity" was created, which shows photographically the diversity of flowers and fruits recorded. The photographs were also used to generate a database called a photo library. Finally, the results and products of this work contribute to the knowledge of little known plant structures, especially the flowers and fruits of the agricultural species of the Loja canton.
