Estudio de optimización de la ruta de transporte intraprovincial de pasajeros de la Compañía VINGALA C.A.

Abstract

Abstract: Planning in public transportation is growing due to the constant increase in population and development of cities. In Quito Ecuador there are big problems of vehicular congestion and due to the geography and economy of the expansion of its network road is almost impossible. In the present work, a study was carried out for the optimization of transport routes in the Company Vingala C.A. that provides its services from the Valley of Los Chillos to the Catholic University sector (Quito). Data obtained from the GPS and the Komoot application to determine the hours with the highest vehicular traffic and later through the use of mobile applications Google Maps or Waze and analysis Possible alternative routes were studied statistically. The results show 3 possible routes which reduce travel time by approximately 8 minutes one way and 4 to 23 minutes the return, which represents a benefit for users and for the transport operator.
