Abstract

Abstract: This research refers to the right to health, more specifically access to quality, safe and effective medicines for people with catastrophic or highly complex diseases in a single sentence issued by the Constitutional Court of Ecuador, its objective is to analyze the access to them under the rights established in the constitution, this analysis is done in the sentence 679-18 JP and accumulated. To achieve this, methods such as analysis and synthesis, socio-legal and exegetical methods have been used to analyze the content of the sentence and generate through this work knowledge for future research; the results obtained denote the need for the State as the highest regulatory body to ensure access to these essential medicines to achieve the enjoyment of the highest level of health, being that health has become not only a right but a necessity for the country to move towards the achievement of SDG 3.
