Propuesta de una georuta entre los sectores de Vilcabamba, Yangana y Quinara del cantón Loja para la promoción y conservación del patrimonio geológico

Abstract

Abstract: Ecuador enjoys a very wide geodiversity, which allows the development of tourism favoring socioeconomic development. Through the points of geological interest (PIGs) we propose the promotion and conservation of geological heritage, promoting its importance and achieving a scientific, didactic and touristic impact. The methodological model defined by the Spanish Geological Mining Institute (IGME) was used for the identification, categorization and valuation of the GIPs. The proposal of a georoute in the parishes of Vilcabamba, Yangana and Quinara, contributes to geoconservation, geotourism and geoeducation, developing economic and social impacts in the study area. This georoute consists of 13 PIGs with scientific, didactic and touristic values. Each PIG has an informative poster.
