Abstract: The investigation into journalistic cybersecurity in Ecuador focused on investigating about the tools and procedures implemented by journalists for the protection of personal data and sensitive documents. The results of the Research highlights the importance of cybersecurity in Ecuadorian journalism. In addition, they promote the constant updating of hardware and software and the conducting periodic security audits. In the Ecuadorian context, also Specific challenges are faced, such as targeted attacks and social engineering tactics. Therefore, proper tools and procedures are essential to protect sources and information. In conclusion, the research highlights the need for a Effective cybersecurity in Ecuadorian journalism. Recommendations include continuous training in cybersecurity, the implementation of security measures layering, secure password management, protection of sources and collaborators, security audits and incident response plans.
