| Abstract: | Abstract: This thesis presents a comparison between the Marvel Super-Heroes #18, Guardians of the Galaxy (2008) comics and the three Guardians of the Galaxy films (2014, 2017, 2023); the main objective is to analyse and contrast the Guardians of the Galaxy comics and the Guardians of the Galaxy films. In order to carry out this research, qualitative research was employed and through descriptive analysis, we compared compositional elements such as narrative, settings and iconography, and aspects of the characters such as their role, biography, physical and personality characteristics, abilities, powers, identity colours and costumes. The results reveal that the adaptations we see in the films are not one hundred percent faithful to their original works, the comics. While the characters and their essence are maintained, the stories are different. For example, the characters in the Guardians of the Galaxy (2008) comic book are similar to those we see in director James Gunn's three films, but their origins and subplots are different. |
| Description: | Resumen: El presente trabajo de titulación presenta una comparativa entre los cómics Marvel Super-Heroes #18, Guardians of the Galaxy (2008) y las tres películas de Guardianes de la Galaxia (2014, 2017, 2023); el objetivo principal es analizar y contrastar los cómics y películas de Guardianes de la Galaxia. Para poder realizar esta investigación, se empleó la investigación cualitativa y mediante el análisis descriptivo, se comparó elementos compositivos como narrativa, escenarios e iconografía, y aspectos de los personajes como su rol, biografía, características físicas y de personalidad, habilidades, poderes, colores de identidad y su vestuario. Los resultados revelan que, las adaptaciones que vemos en las películas no son cien por ciento fieles a sus obras originales, los cómics. Si bien se mantienen los personajes y su esencia, las historias son diferentes. Por ejemplo, los personajes del cómic Guardians of the Galaxy (2008) son similares a los que vemos en las tres películas del director James Gunn, pero sus orígenes y tramas secundarias son distintas. |
