| Abstract: | Abstract: The present mixed method study explores the perceptions of teachers and students on the implementation of AI in ILE teaching. This work expands knowledge approaches the perceptions of educators and students regarding the application of AI in education ILE teaching. The research was carried out with a sample of 7 ILE teachers (6 women and 1 man) and 50 Second High School students at a private school Catholic in Cuenca. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires and data qualitative through focus groups. The main findings show that the Participants demonstrate enthusiasm for using AI-based tools and They consider themselves good assistants to improve their performance and the processes of teaching/learning. Likewise, participants believe that AI will not replace human teachers since students will always need human interaction to guide your learning. It is concluded that teachers and students are positive about the implementation of AI in ILE teaching due to the benefits it provides to education and are willing to continue learning about it. |
| Description: | Resumen: El presente estudio de método mixto explora las percepciones de profesores y estudiantes sobre la implementación de la IA en la enseñanza de ILE. Este trabajo amplía el conocimiento acerca las percepciones de educadores y estudiantes respecto a la aplicación de IA en la enseñanza de ILE. La investigación se realizó con una muestra de 7 profesores de ILE (6 mujeres y 1 hombre) y 50 estudiantes de Segundo de Bachillerato en un colegio privado católico en Cuenca. Datos cuantitativos fueron recolectados mediante cuestionarios y datos cualitativos mediante grupos focales. Los principales hallazgos muestran que los participantes demuestran entusiasmo por utilizar herramientas basadas en IA y las consideran buenos asistentes para mejorar su desempeño y los procesos de enseñanza/aprendizaje. Asimismo, los participantes consideran que la IA no reemplazará a los profesores humanos ya que los estudiantes siempre necesitarán interacción humana para guiar su aprendizaje. Se concluye que docentes y estudiantes se muestran positivos a la implementación de IA en la enseñanza ILE debido a los beneficios que presta a la educación y están dispuestos a seguir aprendiendo sobre la misma. |
