Abstract

Abstract: This research work focuses on the study of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the link with Criminal Law and ruling No. 2113-15-EP /21 issued by the Constitutional Court, through the extraordinary protection action filed by Mr. Juan Kayap against the sentence issued by the National Court of Justice, for violating due process, guaranteed in Art. 77 numeral 14 of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador 2008. For its correct development, the importance of the SDGs, background, progress, and obstacles to their fulfillment, especially SDG No. 16. To complement this work, doctrine and legal frameworks are included that protect Effective Judicial Protection, Due Process and Legal Security, rights that They have been transgressed against the defendant by worsening the sentence from 1 month to 7 years and 6 months of custodial imprisonment. The purpose of this research is to make known the scope of the SDGs in our society and the rights to which we are creditors.
