Abstract: The developed legal research addresses the complexity of the jurisprudence review process and legal norms, employing a systematic and theoretical-deductive methodology. The investigation highlights the study of SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and the ruling No. 505-16-EP from the Constitutional Court of Ecuador reveals a vital connection between commercial law and the principles of SDG 16. The case involves an overdue promissory note and emphasizes access to justice, the construction of robust institutions, and peaceful conflict resolution. The ruling dismissed the extraordinary protection action, citing the lack of diligence by the defendant in conducting a specific test. This underscores the importance of due process and active participation by parties to strengthen judicial institutions. The research emphasizes the relationship between commercial law, SDG 16, and the need for effective and equitable justice.
