Abstract

Abstract: This curricular integration work analyzes, in the context of the subject Criminal Law, a ruling of the Constitutional Court of Ecuador, as a case study, evaluating its impact on judicial practice and legal security, contrasting it with Sustainable Development Goal 16. It focuses on Ruling No. 2516-19-EP/22 of the Constitutional Court of Ecuador, where the violation of the right to due process is evident. Within it, other protected rights are evaluated, such as access to quality justice and effective judicial protection. On the other hand, various research tools and methods were applied, such as the systematic, theoretical-deductive, and socio-legal methods. Techniques such as filing, sentence study, and online research were also used, all oriented to achieving the stated objective. The results obtained highlight the interaction between Criminal Law, SDG 16 and the principle of "double conformity" in a specific sentence, strengthening trust in justice, promoting transparency and contributing to the sustainable development of a more just and inclusive society.
