Índice para evaluar las áreas verdes urbanas en la ciudad de Riobamba, provincia de Chimborazo

Abstract

Abstract: The need to implement measures that encourage the growth of green spaces in cities is crucial. Inhabitants require recreational areas that promote healthy leisure activities. The current deficit of green spaces is evident when considering the Urban Green Index (UGI), which is far below the recommendations of competent authorities. This project aims to be a significant contribution, as the creation of more green spaces will also boost tourism and commerce in the affected areas, supporting sustainable and economic development. It is essential that institutions, authorities, and citizens work together to care for, improve, and secure these spaces for future generations, promoting a culture of more sustainable and environmentally respectful living. Furthermore, these activities can improve the health and economy of families. Therefore, the success of this project lies in raising awareness about the need to increase the per capita green space index in the city of Riobamba.
