Abstract: | Abstract: The present study aimed to analyze the impact of Wordwall-based activities on high school EFL students and to investigate their perspectives and attitudes towards the Wordwall tool in English vocabulary learning. This research was conducted in a public high school in the city of Loja. A mixed methods experimental design was used, in which quantitative and qualitative information was collected. The sample included 60 participants from the third year of high school enrolled in morning classes, divided into 30 students from class B (experimental group) and 30 students from class C (control group). The instruments for data collection were a pre-test and post-test applied to the experimental and control groups, an observation checklist, and a student and teacher s perception survey. The results revealed that the Wordwall activities significantly improved the vocabulary learning of high school students due to the catchy and interactive activities. In addition, students showed positive attitudes and perceptions towards using this platform, which was considered easy to use, interactive, and practical. It increased their attention and motivation, promoting effective vocabulary learning. |
Description: | Resumen: Este estudio tuvo como objetivó analizar el impacto de las actividades basadas en Wordwall de estudiantes EFL e investigar las perspectivas y actitudes hacia la herramienta Wordwall en el aprendizaje de vocabulario en inglés. Esta investigación fue en un colegio público de la ciudad de Loja, empleando un diseño experimental de métodos mixtos, para recoger información cuantitativa y cualitativa. La muestra incluyó 60 participantes de tercero de bachillerato de clases matinales, divididos en treinta alumnos de la clase B (grupo experimental) y treinta estudiantes de la clase C (grupo control). Los instrumentos fueron un pre-test y un pos-test para los dos grupos, una lista de observación al grupo experimental y una encuesta de percepción al grupo experimental y docente. Los resultados revelaron que las actividades Wordwall mejoraron significativamente el aprendizaje de vocabulario de los alumnos de secundaria. Además, los alumnos mostraron actitudes y percepciones positivas hacia el uso de esta plataforma, considerada fácil de usar, interactiva y práctica. Aumentó su atención y motivación, promoviendo un aprendizaje eficaz del vocabulario. |
