Exploring the Efficacy of Chat GPT Tutoring in Enhancing EFL writing

Abstract

Abstract: The research titled Exploring the effectiveness of Chat GPT tutoring to improve the writing in English as a foreign language. The objective was to analyze the use of artificial intelligence Chat GPT to help develop students' ability to writing in English as a foreign language. This research was qualitative and quantitative and was carried out in a private school in the province of Loja with a sample of 15 first year high school students. For data collection, we used surveys, interviews and pre and post tests. The results indicated that the use of Chat GPT significantly increased the skill level of the students in their ability to writing using the course contents as a reference, making learning more challenging and increasing your motivation. Furthermore, a notable improvement was observed in the academic performance after the intervention, which shows that this methodology improved understanding of the subject. In conclusion, the use of artificial intelligence Chat GPT in the Developing writing skills in English is an effective methodology in addition to improving the academic performance of students, making learning more attractive and improving your linguistic skills in the language.
