Abstract

Abstract: This research focused on the academic preferences of students of Law and its relationship with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), analyzing judicial rulings. We sought to understand how students' preferences were align with the SDGs and how the study of sentences can contribute to their training in matter of sustainable development. The research had a methodological approach systematic, theoretical-deductive and socio-legal, using methods of analysis, synthesis and exegetical. Techniques such as signing and the study of sentences were applied through the online research. SDG 16, the perspectives of experts on the rights protected by this SDG, the international legal framework and supporting them, and a significant court ruling related to the SDG 16. In general, the investigation concluded that the training of lawyers in matters of sustainable development is crucial to face the current challenges of the profession. The study of sentences can be a valuable tool to strengthen the students' understanding of the SDGs and their application in the legal field. The legal areas in which future lawyers plan to practice are varied, but commercial and financial, public, labor, and environmental law stand out. and criminal.
