Abstract: In order to determine predisposing factors, estimate cardiovascular risk , establish adherence to drug treatment and their relation, was performed this retrospective and quantitative study in patients with DM2 of 40-65 years old from Central Ambulatory Care Center - Loja. There were used tools as the Framingham and SCORE functions. To know adherence to drug treatment the Morisky –Green questionnaire was applied. It was observed that the most prevalent non-modifiable risk factor was age, with a percentage of 73.99% and hypertension was the main modifiable factor with prevalence of 63.01%. According to the Framingham function high-risk patients constitute 51.45%, and by SCORE, 12.14%. Adherence to treatment was 48.55%. It was concluded that the most prevalent risk factors were age and hypertension. Framingham function found high risk in the majority, and SCORE, a low risk because this does not include diabetes as a risk factor. There is a high percentage of non-adherence, finding no significant association with the estimated risk.
