Caracterización de las pacientes atendidas en la sala culturalmente adecuada y en la sala de partos del hospital básico de Saraguro, durante el período enero – diciembre 2012.

Abstract

The present work shows the socio- demographic characteristics and background of patients who delivered in culturally appropriate birthing room and the conventional Delivery Room in Saraguros Base Hospital during the period January to December 2012. The same was done by collecting data, it is a comparative, retrospective, comparing delivery care in culturally appropriate room and childbirth attended the common delivery room. It is also an analytical descriptive study, quantitative, because labor is analyzed from a human perspective. According to the results of the study, we can conclude that the patients treated in culturally appropriate room, most are indigenous ethnic group, rural dwellers, and with age ranging from 21-30 years. Patients treated in the conventional labor ward, in relation to ethnicity, 50% are mestizo and 50 % are indigenous, the age group most often in care was 21 to 30 years and belong mostly to the area rural. Regarding the background gynecoobstetric were reported in more multiparous in both groups. As for prenatal patients treated in the conventional labor ward were more controls that served in the room culturally appropriate, had better control of pregnancy. In both study groups, the patients showed no significant pathology during pregnancy. In relation to the position of the patients treated in culturally appropriate birthing room, the greatest percentage had its birth in a kneeling position, while in the conventional labor ward all patients reported gynecological or lithotomy position .
