Description: “Factors that influence the teaching-learning process in Ecuadorian private high schools” are the main goals that this research tried to identify through the analysis of different aspects involved in English teaching–learning process. This research took place in five private high schools in Cuenca where teachers’ and students’ questionnaires and observation formats were used to identify the factors that influenced the English teaching process. The instruments including aspects, such as students’ level, students’ needs, class size, seat arrangement, and so on. The questionnaires were filled by a selected group of teachers and students. Besides, four factors were taken into account in this research, concerning to students, teachers, classrooms, and institutions. The findings in this research may be useful to understand the main problems that affect the educational process in teaching English.
