Análisis del performance de 3 tipos de muros de mampostería de ladrillo sometidos a carga axial.

Abstract

This investigation has as purpose to analyze the performance (behavior of walls once the compression force is applied) of three types of masonry walls, built with three types of different bricks, two of which are bricks studied by thesis students of the Universidad Técnica Particular of Loja, and the third type of brick is the handmade of Catamayo. This investigation was developed in the province of Loja, in the cantons of Catamayo and Loja, as well as in the parish Malacatos, and in the laboratories of the Universidad Técnica Particular of Loja. I analyzed the behavior of the walls realizing the test of resistance to the diagonal compression, this based on the criteria established in the Ecuadorian Norm of Estructural Masonry (Norma Ecuatoriana de Mampostería Estructural) NEC - SE - MP; I also analyzed the behavior of these walls in a Structural Analysis Software using the Finite Element Method. Once the studies were completed, I performed an analysis of the results, and in this way I knew what kind of brick gives me better results when exposed to unfavorable conditions.
