Diagnóstico de Helicobacter Pylori por endoscopia digestiva alta en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital Básico N° 7 Loja, durante el 2013

Abstract

To determine the presence of Helicobacter pylori and its association with diseases such as gastritis and peptic ulcer, both diagnosed by upper endoscopy; characterization of positive cases and treatment of choice. A quantitative, retrospective and descriptive study was conducted using clinical records of 220 patients treated at the gastroenterology area of the Basic Hospital No. 7 Loja in 2013, the analysis of the categorical variables was performed using Microsoft Office Excel 2010 software. A predominance of female with 75.45% in Helicobacter pylori infection diagnosed was observed by histopathology, Gastritis result to be the major associated pathology with 89.55% and first-line treatment accounted 90% of therapeutic used to eradicate Helicobacter pylori. The infection caused by Helicobacter pylori demonstrated a close relationship with gastritis, with histopathology through biopsy an accurate an accurate method for its diagnosis. Therefore, it is a need for adequate treatment to avoid complications from bacteria.
