Abstract

Abstract: The present investigation Vocational preferences through the searching self-directed of Holland. Research in a school of the city of Loja. It had as main objective explore the vocational preferences according the personality types, conforming to theory of Holland, this research was realized in students of the third year of high school, of a scholl in the city of Loja. The methodology of this investigation was of quantitative type, not experimental, transversal with a descriptive method, the sample was conformed by forty teenagers of ages between sixteen and nineteen years old. The instruments used were: Inventory Searching Self-Directed SDS - Shape J, and the Sociodemographic Questionnaire ad- hoc . The results were classified according to personality types of Holland, where a high number of students self-qualified with the artistic type of personality, followed by the researchers types and enterprising type. The types of personality less scored were social and conventional types.
