: Consumo de bebidas alcohólicas frente a la violencia intrafamiliar en la parroquia de Santiago del cantón Loja

Abstract

Domestic violence does not have a previously established chronological order, however, studies on this topic have been carried out lately due to the consequences unchained in the family and in the social environment. In cases of intrafamily violence, the aggressor is usually intoxicated and in this way violence is encouraged. Tolerance attitudes towards abuse in the home without distinctions of socioeconomic status, level of education and marital status result in physical, sexual and psychological damage for the person who suffers the abuse as well as for the family as a whole. It is considered the lack of contribution and, therefore, the ignorance of the data referring to the incidence of alcohol in publications on family violence in cases where it had acted as a trigger. That is why the incidence of alcohol in family violence was raised as a study objective. For the study the collaboration of the citizenship of the parish of Santiago was requested, to which a survey questionnaire was later applied, obtaining relevant information for the study. Finally, with the information gathered from the surveys and through the chi2 and Kappa test, it was concluded that there is statistical evidence of a relationship between the variables of alcohol consumption and the violence generated inside the home
