Abstract: The creation of an urban pedestrian mobility system for the City of Loja in Ecuador is the focus of this study, where the pedestrian recovers the walking environments before those other mobility systems and the possibility to move freely and safely in the center of the city. The city of Loja presents a concentration of public and private services in its central area (historic center), in addition, its topography and elongated shape, generate a continuous flow of people and motorized vehicles trying to have ac¬cess to this area. This concentration of flows create different types of congestion that affect directly to the pedestrian, for which it is proposed the creation of connectors that articulate an urban pedestrian system in order to provide friendly displa-cements, considering a revaluation of historical places found in the path and complementing them with architectural solutions that provide security and con¬tinuity to the routes. It includes the rehabilitation and recovery of two natural elements, the Zamora and Malacatos rivers as well as the incorporation of new places in the city where can develop different activities, it is also considered the pedestrianization of 10 de Agosto Street, an artery of greater flows that connect the center of the city. This project has considered historical and architectural elements to generate an urban pedestrian system of mobility where the pedestrian has space free of architectural barriers, an adequate infrastructure, and the corresponding physi¬cal security to enter to center city.
