Descripción : Abstract: The following investigation was conducted to determine the incidence of actinic proctitis in patients diagnosed with prostate cancer and treated with radiotherapy during the 2009-2013 period at the Solca-Loja Hospital, for which the following variables were analyzed: presence / No presence of proctitis, age, degree of proctitis, type of proctitis, and doses of radiation. The study was a retrospective, cross-sectional and descriptive study of the clinical histories of patients diagnosed with prostate cancer who were treated with radiotherapy for a period of 5 years and presented as a complication of Proctitis Actinica. The results showed that the incidence of actinic proctitis in the 31 patients included in the study was 51.6%, with a higher incidence in patients 60 years of age and older and at doses greater than 6000 CGY. Grade I of proctitis was seen in 50%, grade II in 43.8% and grade III in 6.3%; No patient presented grade IV proctitis. 75% of the patients developed acute proctitis and 25% presented chronic proctitis.
