Descripción : Abstrack: The studies carried out in recent years on chronic work stress have made it possible to know and consider what are the conditions of work requirement in hospital environments that generate situations of deterioration in physical health and psychological vulnerability in formal caregivers, added to the care responsibilities There are personal situations that cause it to be considered a serious problem especially in the health care area. It is known that 4% of health workers suffer from chronic stress in Ecuador; This research will allow us to know and evaluate that the formal caregivers-nurses, nurses and nursing assistants-of a private hospital in the city of Quito present chronic work stress. The descriptive and statistical methods were used in the collection of the sample that was 40 formal caregivers, it is also a non-experimental, exploratory study, with descriptive and quantitative methodology. A set of 7 instruments and a socio-demographic and labor questionnaire were applied. Once obtained the results, it can be concluded that in the sample the percentage of chronic work stress is presented by 17.50% of the formal caregivers.
