| Zusammenfassung: | Abstract:In March 2015, Ecuador implemented protectionist measures regarding safeguards, in order to reduce the problem that was generated in the Balance of Payments derived from several factors; in this sense, the present study analyzed the impact of safeguards in the ecuadorian economy through econometric modeling with a double logarithmic function. For this estimation, secondary quantitative information was used, with a quarterly cut from the first quarter of 2010 to the second quarter of 2017 of the variables: GDP, imports, oil price, dollar quotation, remittances and safeguards. The econometric results ruled out statistical significance of the variables: dollar price, oil price and remittances, for this reason they were not subject to argument. The variables imports and safeguards (it is a dummy variable that indicates the period of validity of the safeguards), were statistically significant. It was concluded that the application of safeguards reduced the general level of imports and these at the same time negatively affected GDP, since, during the application of safeguards, the growth of the ecuadorian economy had a downward trend. |
| Beschreibung: | Resumen:En marzo del 2015, Ecuador implementó medidas proteccionistas referente a salvaguardias, con el fin de aminorar el problema que se generó en la Balanza de Pagos derivado de varios factores; en ese sentido, el presente estudio analizó el impacto de las salvaguardias en la economía ecuatoriana mediante una modelización econométrica con función doble logarítmica. Para dicha estimación, se utilizó información secundaria de carácter cuantitativo con corte trimestral desde el primer trimestre del 2010 hasta el segundo trimestre del 2017 considerando las variables: PIB, importaciones, precio del petróleo, cotización del dólar, remesas y salvaguardias. Los resultados econométricos descartaron significancia estadística de las variables: cotización del dólar, precio del petróleo y remesas, por tal motivo no fueron objeto de argumento. Las variables importaciones y salvaguardias (variable dummy que indica el periodo de vigencia de las salvaguardias), resultaron estadísticamente significativas. Se concluyó que, la aplicación de las salvaguardias redujo el nivel general de las importaciones y estas a la vez afectaron negativamente al PIB, ya que, durante la aplicación de salvaguardias, el crecimiento de la economía ecuatoriana tuvo una tendencia hacia la baja. |
