Caracterización geoquímica y mineralógica del granito Tres Lagunas, sector cerro "La Voladora", con fines prospectivos

Abstract:The studies done in the Tres Lagunas Granite have been carried out at a regional scale and have not focused exclusively on geochemical prospecting. For this reason, this investigation consisted in the geochemical and mineralogical characterization with prospective aims, directed mainly to the elements tin (Sn) and tungsten (W) in the sector of "La Voladora" hill between Oña and Yacuambi town. The development of the research was carried out in two stages; the field stage, in which the geological survey and collection of samples was done; while the preparation and analysis of samples, the interpretation and correlation of resulting data and maps of geochemical anomalies were made at the cabinet stage. It was proved that the lithologies present in the zone correspond to granitoids, tuffs and quaternary deposits; Mineralogically they consist of quartz, feldspars, plagioclase and micas, among other minerals. As for concentrations, anomalous values of Ce, Zn and Cu were obtained; while for the elements object of this study (Sn and W) threshold and sub-anomaly values were respectively determined.
