Abstract

Abstract:The present work was developed around the houses of the Victor Emilio Valdivieso neighborhood of the city of Loja, where, thanks to the work and participation of the community, the deficiencies that their houses offer around the quality of habitability could be analyzed. The participatory design methodology allowed finding problems such as overcrowding, insecurity, poor planning, and unhealthiness, among others in the living spaces of the community and through participatory workshops to create a critical awareness about this situation in the community. Likewise, community participation allowed the community to find accessible solutions to the real needs of the neighborhood, making the community empowered by the spaces they inhabit. Finally, habitable modules designed together with the community and based on their needs are proposed, which aim to improve the quality of habitability of their spaces in an accessible and progressive manner, which gives facilities to the community to improve their conditions.
