Abstract

Abstract:The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between attitudes towards machismo and attitudes of violence against women in the relationship between 91 students in tenth to first year of high school in tax colleges in the city of Loja, for this purpose a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental, correlational and transversal methodology. In the same way, three instruments were used to obtain the information: AD-HOC questionnaire of Sociodemographic data; EVAMVE scale and V-M scale. The results indicate that prevailing macho attitudes are related to jealousy and feelings of guilt, sense of ridicule and sexual satisfaction of man. Among the prevalent attitudes of violence against women are those related to economic violence, home care and childcare. There was a correlation between macho attitudes and violence against women, however, no correlation was found when a gender differentiation was carried out.
