Análisis narratológico y del componente religioso de la novela Pedro Páramo de Juan Rulfo

Abstract

Abstract:This essay analyzes the narratological and religious component of the novel Pedro Páramo by Mexican writer Juan Rulfo. With a short but substantial work, Rulfo manages to revitalize the Latin American narrative, by establishing new structural and language perspectives, which would have an enormous influence on later generations of writers. The narrative originality of the Mexican author is evidenced, fundamentally, in his work Pedro Páramo, because here the modern narrative techniques are accurately reflected, in order to create a fantastic world intimately linked to its real context, referred to through the different stories that happen in the mythical town of Comala. For this reason, it is necessary to go back into this work to understand the changes generated by its appearance in the second half of the twentieth century, making it clear that a history of deeply local roots can reach universal dimensions. The review of the author's life and work, plus the narratological study and the religious component, will be of great value to try to unravel some aspects that make up his enigmatic novelistic world.
