Abstract

Abstract:This research aims to analyze the degree of participation of low-income families in the process of obtaining their homes, and how they intervene in terms of spatial flexibility, participation, organization and management of the same. The Victor Emilio Valdivieso Citadel (Tierras Coloradas) is selected as a case study as it is an informal neighborhood that has gone through a long process that involves the direct participation of its inhabitants. We proceed from the methodology used to find the qualitative variables that allow us to define the role of importance of the investee dwelling, and then determine the approach of a process and alternative strategies to the current conventional housing that respond in a better way to the needs, requirements and possibilities of users or coexistence groups.
