Abstract:The present work, proposed a comprehensive solid waste management plan (PGIRS) for the Parish Cotogchoa, began with the evaluation of the current management, it was evident that the Municipality of Rumiñahui Canton and the rest of the sectors do not have adequate service of waste collection, so they burn or dump their waste to the Suruhuayco and Arguello rivers The diagnosis and evaluation was carried out by means of the field work, using monitoring programs for eight samples developed in the months of September and October, it was determined that the per capita generation is 0.56 (kg / hab / day), with a Solid waste composition of 56% in organic, 29% plastic, 4% paper, 2% cardboard, 1% cans, 0.7% fabrics, 4% glass and 3% other materials. With the results obtained, the PGIRS was designed, which is made up of the following programs: education and environmental awareness, segregation and utilization of inorganic and organic waste, each of them with activities that plan to instruct the inhabitants and facilitate the appropriate alternatives to the authorities. to improve the management of RS.
