Identificación y diagnóstico de las áreas verdes urbanas presentes en la Administración Zonal Los Chillos del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito

Abstract

Abstract: Urban green areas have been considered of importance at the environmental level because of the benefits they bring to the public, so their biophysical state in terms of maintenance and conservation has been questioned. The present work was based on three objectives: first, the urban green areas belonging to the "Los Chillos Zonal Administration of the Metropolitan District of Quito" were identified and invented; secondly, the state of maintenance and equipment of the biophysical aspect was verified, categorizing the areas by green area (grass, trees, bushes, among others), and urban furniture (playgrounds, sports fields, benches, among others), by observing in situ the different selected spaces; Finally, the social benefits they bring to the surrounding population were identified. It was determined that the cause of the deterioration of these spaces has been the responsibility of the authorities and the population, due to the lack of maintenance and care in their green area and urban furniture, vandalism, and little knowledge of the population due to the importance of the social and environmental benefits that these places offer.
