Aves asociadas a sistemas productivos agropecuarios y remanentes boscosos naturales del cantón Olmedo, provincia de Loja

Abstract

Abstract: It was determined the diversity of birds in different land uses in Olmedo canton, to strengthen the knowledge about the contribution that agroproductive systems provide to local bird diversity. A sampling was carried out through the systematic search of visual and auditory records of birds in the sector from November 2019 to January 2020, by establishing three transects in: agroforestry system, forest, monoculture and pasture. The diversity indexesdetermined that the four sites have high diversity, being higher in agroforestry system and forest. The similarity index determined that the agroforestry system and monoculture have more species in common, compared to forest and pasture. There were 89 species registered, 43.7% of them correspond to insectivorous birds, 57.4% have low sensitivity, and 18 endemic species were identified, five migratory and 11 species with threat category. It is concluded that the agro-productive systems of Olmedo canton shelter a diverse and important amount of birds, since the agro-forestry system and forest are the most important ecosystems for this faunistic group, since they have significant similarities with the original ecosystems of the sector.
