| Abstract: | Abstract: The present work was developed with the main objective of molecularly identifying MRSA by PCR. Using (n = 75) samples belonging to a strain previously identified phenotypically in the microbiology laboratories of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja during the year 2018-2019, of which 26correspond to S. aureus and 49 to MRSA. Antimicrobial resistance to cefoxitin was determined by antibiogram, obtaining 21.4% (n = 3). The presence of the mecA gene by conventional PCR was 22.6% (n = 17) |
| Description: | Resumen: El presente trabajo se desarrolló con el objetivo principal de identificar molecularmente SARM mediante PCR. Usando (n=75) muestras pertenecientes a un cepario previamente identificado fenotípicamente en los laboratorios de microbiología de la Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja durante el año 2018-2019, de las cuales 26 corresponden a S. aureus y 49 a SARM. La resistencia antimicrobiana a cefoxitina se determinó mediante antibiograma obteniendo 21,4% (n=3). La presencia del gen mecA mediante PCR convencional fue de un 22,6% (n = 17). |
