| Abstract: | Abstract: The main objective of the present investigation is to contribute to the knowledge of the factors that influence the production of corn in the Pindal canton in 2019.For which the data obtained from the Survey of Area and Continuous Agricultural Production (ESPAC), carriedout by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC), considering 105 observations. That is why an econometric model is estimated using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) method, based on the Cobb-Douglas production function. Obtaining as resultsthat the main production factors that affect the agriculture of the Pindal canton are the harvested area (land), number of workers (work) and type of seed used (technology), which have a direct relationship with the corn production. |
| Description: | Resumen: El objetivo principal de la presente investigación es contribuir al conocimiento de los factores que influyen en la producción de maíz en el cantón Pindal en el año 2019. Para lo cual se utilizan los datos obtenidos de la Encuesta de Superficie y Producción Agropecuaria Continua (ESPAC), realizada por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censos (INEC), considerando 105 observaciones.Es por ello, que se estima un modelo econométrico usando el método de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios (MCO), con base en la función de producción Cobb-Douglas. Obteniendo como resultados que los principales factores de producción que afectan a la agricultura del cantón Pindal son, la superficie cosechada(tierra), número de trabajadores (trabajo) y tipo de semilla utilizada (tecnología), los mismos que poseen una relación directa con la producción de maíz. |
