Sobrecarga laboral en el cuidador informal del adulto mayor en la ciudad de Sucúa durante el año 2019-2020

Abstract

Abstract: The present research work had the main objective to identify the work overload in the informal elderly people caregivers in Sucúa city during the year 2019 - 2020. I used the quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive and exploratory research designs. This work had an accessibility simple of 20 caregivers and 20 elderly people. The instruments that I used were the sociodemographic and labor Ad-Hoc questionnaire, burden interview for caretakers, Barthel Index, (GHQ-129), Brief Cope-28, Social Duke Support, EPQR-A Personality, and Mental State Pfeiffer Laptop Questionnaire. The results obtained with regard to caregivers showed that 65% suffer from intense overload, while 20% mild overload. 40% work and perform the care role at the same time. 50% consider themselves competent in the performance of their role and 40% have deteriorated their health. Regarding the coping strategies, the most used were acceptance and religion. In relation to elderly people, 45% of them present total dependence.
