Abstract

Abstract:The present work starts from the following problem, Olmedo is the smallest canton in the province of Loja, agriculture being the main occupation of its inhabitants, highlighting the production of coffee and peanuts, as well as a great variety of fruit products and grains. However, it is below the provincial and national level due to the lack of infrastructure of its establishments, which also directly affects health due to the lack of basic services. To remedy this behavior, it was proposed to analyze the level of functionality of the city of Olmedo and its impact on the cantonal territorial organization to guide strategies that guarantee its sustainable development. The methodology used consists of preparing a territorial diagnosis of the Olmedo canton, where the strengths and weaknesses were identified, as well as the opportunities and threats that affect the territory. Subsequently, a desired territorial model was elaborated that contemplates the formulation of a set of objectives, strategies, and actions. As a result, the territorial configuration of the Olmedo canton is obtained and the formulation of proposals to guide the occupation of the territory.
