Esteatosis hepática en niños y adolescentes obesos y sus factores asociados

Abstract

Abstract: Background: Hepatic steatosis is the main disease that affects the liver in children and adolescents, its etiology is currently not fully known, mainly associated with obesity it is increased dramatically in recent decades, the objective of the research was to collect information on fatty liver disease non -alcoholic, its association with obesity in pediatric and adolescent patients, in addition to determining its main risk factors. Method: A bibliographic review was performed in databases of biomedical information the same that have quality standards for publication, in English and Spanish according to the selection criteria. Results: A total of 20 studies were included for the analysis, of which the prevalence rates of obesity-associated hepatic steatosis in pediatric and adolescent patients were reported, and their main risk factors were determined. Conclusions: Obesity is the main risk factor for the appearance of hepatic steatosis, other factors are insulin resistance, the genetic factor, dyslipidemias and environmental factors.
