| Abstract: | Abstract:Since 2020 , COVID 19 pandemic originated in Wuhan has caused a change in study modality. This change has produced that teachers and students adapt unexpectedly to integrating technology into their daily lives. Based on this antecedent, the present research topic entitled Ecuadorian public high school teachers´ perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms during the COVID – 19 pandemic is focused on analyzing the technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms. The participants were ten EFL English teachers of ten provinces of Ecuador. The methodology used was mixed applying quantitative and qualitative approaches. The instruments consisted in two surveys and one interview. The first survey identified the types of digital tools were applied by teachers, and the second survey provided information on the frequency of use of each tool. The results indicated a favorable attitude and positive perception towards implementing technological resources by teachers who were aware of the advantages, disadvantages, and difficulties that may arise during the application. Also, they perceived the technology as necessary, effective, and enjoyable to create interactive virtual learning environments. |
| Description: | Resumen:Desde 2020, la pandemia originada en Wuhan ha provocado un cambio en la modalidad de estudio. Este cambio causo que profesores y alumnos se adapten inesperadamente a integrar la tecnología en su vida diaria. Con base en este antecedente, el presente tema de investigación titulado Percepciones de los docentes de secundaria pública ecuatoriana sobre los recursos tecnológicos utilizados por los docentes en sus aulas de inglés durante la pandemia de COVID-19 analiza y determina los recursos tecnológicos utilizados por los docentes. Los participantes fueron diez profesores de inglés de diez provincias del Ecuador. La metodología utilizada fue mixta aplicando enfoques cuantitativos y cualitativos. Los instrumentos consistieron en dos encuestas y una entrevista. La primera encuesta identificó los tipos de herramientas digitales que aplicaron los docentes, y la segunda encuesta reveló la frecuencia de uso de cada herramienta. Los resultados indicaron que los docentes poseen una percepción positiva hacia los recursos tecnológicos y fueron conscientes de las ventajas, desventajas y dificultades que pueden surgir durante la aplicación. Además, percibieron la tecnología como necesaria y eficaz para crear entornos de aprendizaje interactivos. |
