Ecuadorian public high school teachers; perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

Abstract: This research about Ecuadorian public high school teachers ́ perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic was conducted with the purpose to analyze different technological resources used by teachersin their EFL classrooms. This investigation was carried out in Ecuador in the cities of Guayaquil, Duran, Ibarra and Puerto Quito. The participants were ten teachers of public high school; they had from 1 to more than 15 years of experience. This study used a mixed method that combined qualitative and quantitative approaches; the main instruments were the survey and interview. The aspects that were considered for the analysis of the results were the highest percentages of the three tables in which the majority of teachers agreed. The findings showed that the most used technological resources are YouTube and virtualplatforms. Teachers have a positive attitude and good competences toward ICT and with the use of technological resources, as these tools providemany advantages and allow teachers to plan and create more realistic and entertaining activitiesin the EFL classroomduring the COVID-19 pandemic.
