Ecuadorian Public High School teachers' perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in the EFL classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Abstract:The present study with the topic perceptions of teachers of Ecuadorian public secondary schools on the technological resources used by teachers in their English as a foreign language classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic, was developed with the aim of analyzing the technological resources used by teachers. To fulfill the purpose of the study, it was carried out through a mixed method applying surveys and interviews to a sample of 10 English teachers in public schools located in Cuenca, Latacunga, Sigchos and Saquisilí. The study was quantitative, because the use, frequency and perceptions of teachers about technological resources were analyzed; the data were represented by descriptive statistics. On the other hand, it was qualitative when analyzing the information provided by the participants, it showed the opinion of the teachers on the use of these resources. The results revealed that the Zoom virtual platform, social networks and PowerPoint are the most used technological resources. In conclusion, teachers use technological tools because they consider them essential for teaching English.
