| Zusammenfassung: | Abstract:2 Abstract GSTM1, GSTT1, GSTP1 genes are actively involved in the production of Glutathione S- transferase enzymes, which are responsible for the metabolism of reactive oxygen species. The background mentions that the null alleles GSTM1*0, GSTT1*0 and the SNP GSTP1 Ile105Val produce modified forms of GST enzymes that decrease their detoxifying capacity. The present study was carried out using genetic data from the general population of the city of Loja, with the aim of establishing the relationship between the null alleles GSTM1*0, GSTT1*0 and the SNP GSTP1 Ile105Val and the development of diseases such as type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, arterial hypertension and obesity. The results showed a frequency of GSTM1*0 of 45.8 %, GSTT1*0 of 49.7 %, as for SNP GSTP1 Ile105Val, the majority allele was Val with 66.1 %, and Ile allele with 33.9 %. GSTM1*0 and the Ile/Val and Val/Val genotypes of the GSTP1 Ile105Val SNP were associated with obesity. |
| Beschreibung: | Resumen: Los genes GSTM1, GSTT1, GSTP1 participan activamente en la producción de enzimas Glutatión S-transferasas, las cuales están encargadas del metabolismo de especies reactivas de oxígeno. Los antecedentes mencionan que los alelos nulos GSTM1*0, GSTT1*0 y el SNP GSTP1 Ile105Val producen formas modificadas de enzimas GST que disminuyen su capacidad desintoxicadora. El presente estudio fue realizado a partir de datos genéticos de población general de la ciudad de Loja, con la finalidad de establecer la relación entre los alelos nulos GSTM1*0, GSTT1*0 y el SNP GSTP1 Ile105Val y el desarrollo de las enfermedades como diabetes tipo 2, síndrome metabólico, hipertensión arterial y obesidad. Los resultados mostraron una frecuencia de GSTM1*0 del 45.8 %, GSTT1*0 del 49.7 %, en cuanto al SNP GSTP1 Ile105Val, el alelo mayoritario fue Val con el 66.1 %, y el alelo Ile con un 33.9 %. GSTM1*0 y los genotipos Ile/Val y Val/Val del SNP GSTP1 Ile105Val se relacionaron con obesidad. |
