Ecuadorian public high school teachers perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

Abstract: The present studycontains information about Ecuadorian public high school teachers perceptions on technological resources used in their EFL classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic. It aims to analyze the technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms. This investigation was carried out in the cities of Quito and Guarandaunder a mixedmethod that considers the quantitative and qualitative approaches. The sample chosen was10 English teachers from public high schools. They were surveyed and interviewed to gather the needed data.To obtain reliable information, two questionnaires and an interview were used as the instruments. The answers provided were organized and analyzed in three sections foridentifyingthe technological resources used by English teachers and the frequency of their usage. Moreover, to determine the teachers perceptions aboutusing technology.Consequently, it was found that almost all the teachers always useVirtual platforms, WhatsApp, YouTube, and PowerPoint presentationsto teach English, since they canmanage themeasily, also, these tools help them to innovate teaching and develop pupils language skills; therefore, technology has becomeimportant in the EFL educational field.
