Abstract: | Abstract:Non-adherence to drug treatment in hypertensive patients is a serious health problem. For this reason, the aim of this study was to develop an educational intervention aimed at addressing adherence to pharmacological treatment in hypertensive patients at the Centro Salud Venezuela. An explanatory, quasi-experimental study was carried out; 42 patients participated. The Morisky Green test was applied and an educational intervention was carried out for 5 months, with educational, behavioral and family support strategies. The data were analyzed using measures of central tendency, absolute and relative frequency, and the effectiveness was evaluated with the McNemar test. The prevailing results were those subjects aged 40-64 years, female sex, medium and higher education level, married and those who work. It was identified that 74% of participants were not adhering to antihypertensive treatment, after the educational intervention 87% adhered. The intervention strategy implemented was effective and statistically significant. |
Description: | Resumen:La no adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en hipertensos es una problemática grave de salud. Por tal motivo en el presente trabajo se realizó con el objetivo desarrollar una intervención educativa dirigida al abordaje de la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes hipertensos del Centro Salud Venezuela. Se realizó un estudio explicativo, cuasi experimental; participando 42 pacientes. Se aplicó el test de Morisky Green y se realizó una intervención educativa durante 5 meses, con estrategias educativas, conductuales y de apoyo familiar. Los datos fueron analizados utilizando medidas de tendencia central, frecuencia absoluta, relativas y se evaluó la efectividad con la prueba McNemar. Los resultados que prevalecieron fueron los sujetos con edades entre 40-64 años, sexo femenino, nivel escolaridad medio y superior, casados y aquellos que trabajan. Se identificó que el 74% de participantes estaban no adheridos al tratamiento antihipertensivo, posterior a la intervención educativa se logró que el 87% se adhirieran. Siendo la estrategia de intervención implementada efectiva y estadísticamente significativa. |
