Cuantificación de fenoles totales y capacidad antioxidante por el método ABTS en el extracto obtenido de la especie Cinchona officinalis.

Abstract

Abstract: In the present investigation, the phenolic composition and antioxidant capacity were assessed by the ABTS method of the extract obtained by static and dynamic maceration of the bark of the Cinchona officinalis species, from the canton of Saraguro, province of Loja, which has the highest antioxidant potential in the methods: ABTS and total phenol content using the Folin Ciocalteu method, with values that ranged from 1.2185 (mg EAG / g ES) to 1.2632 (mg EAG / g ES).The antioxidant capacity of the extracts was evaluated according to the ABTS + method by carrying out a calibration curve, whose equation of the line corresponds to Y = -0.0073x +0.8979, R² = 0.9957. The antioxidant capacity was determined by ABTS 29.16 μMol / ml.It should betaken into account that the species that is analyzed in this research is Chinchona officinalis, which, despite belonging to the Rubiaceae family, its phenolic content can constantly vary with respect to the species treated in this analysis.
