| Abstract: | Abstract:Hypertension (HT) is an important health problem whose management includes changes in lifestyle and drug treatment. The success of this treatment depends to a large extent on the adherence of the patient to it, so the present study evaluated the effectiveness of a personalized system for the administration of antihypertensive drugs in patients with essential hypertension belonging to the Daniel Álvarez health center. Quasi-experimental research that included 50 with hypertension to whom a personalized intervention program was applied to improve their adherence to treatment, which was measured using the Morisky-Green Test. Before the intervention, 86.0% (n = 43) of the patients had low adherence, followed by 14.0% (n = 7) of average adherence. After the intervention, 62.0% (n = 31) of the patients had a medium adherence, followed by 26.0% (n = 13) of high adherence and 12.0% (n = 6) of adherence come down. These results reflect that the personalized multimodal intervention program for the administration of antihypertensive drugs is effective in increasing drug adherence in hypertensive patients. |
| Description: | Resumen:La hipertensión arterial (HTA) es un importante problema de salud cuyo manejo incluye cambios en el estilo de vida y tratamiento farmacológico. El éxito de este tratamiento depende en gran medida de la adherencia del paciente hacia el mismo, por lo que el presente estudio evaluó la efectividad de un sistema personalizado de administración de medicamentos antihipertensivos en los pacientes con HTA esencial pertenecientes al centro de salud Daniel Álvarez. Investigación cuasi-experimental que incluyó a 50 pacientes HTA, a quienes se les aplicó un programa de intervención personalizado para mejorar su adherencia al tratamiento, la cual fue medida utilizando el Test de MoriskyGreen. Antes de la intervención, el 86,0% (n=43) de los pacientes tuvo una baja adherencia, seguida de un 14,0% (n=7) de adherencia media. Posterior a la intervención, el 62,0% (n=31) de los pacientes tuvo una adherencia media, seguida de un 26,0% (n=13) de adherencia alta y 12,0% (n=6) de adherencia baja. Esto resultados reflejan que el programa de intervención personalizado multimodal de administración de medicamentos antihipertensivos es efectivo en el aumento de la adherencia farmacológica en pacientes hipertensos. |
