Ecuadorian public high school teachers ́ perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Abstract: The closure of educational institutionsdue to Covid-19 pandemic has forced teachers to seek new forms of communication to interact with students and use technology as a necessary tool for teaching.The current study aims to analyze Ecuadorian public high schoolteachers ́ perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classroomsduring the pandemic. The present research follows a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach using a surveyand an interview as a research technique. For data collection, 10 language teachers at the English Public high schools in Cuencawereparticipants in this study, whose experience ranged from three to fifteen yearsin the fieldof education. The results revealed that teacher participants agreed that the virtual platforms they used were presented advantages and benefits for language teaching such as; digital platforms, Web pages, Apps, and PowerPoint presentations to improve their teaching process. In addition, the study found that teachers' attitudes towards technology are very positive, since having several technologicalresources on the web, teachers dedicate their time and effort to develop competitive skills in the use of them.
