Abstract

Abstract: This research, "Determining Factors in the Sustainable Development of Microenterprises in Sigsig," analyzes how economic, social, and environmental dimensions influence the sustainability of these economic units. The purpose is to identify strategies that promote the sustainable development of microenterprises in the Sigsig canton, highlighting their importance in job creation, environmental impact, social inclusion, and community engagement. The research employs a quantitative approach, using surveys administered to a representative sample of 45 microenterprises. Inductive, deductive, and analytical methods were adopted to assess key sustainability factors and their impact on business management. The main findings show that, although microenterprises recognize the importance of sustainability, they face barriers such as limited access to financing, lack of government support, and climate challenges. However, they stand out for their community engagement and efforts in social inclusion and gender equality. This study provides a comprehensive perspective on the challenges and opportunities of sustainable development in rural microenterprises. The findings underscore the need to implement government support policies, promote training in sustainable practices, and foster access to financing.
