Percepción y opinión pública sobre riesgos naturales en la ciudad San Francisco de Orellana

Abstract

Abstract: This research addresses the perception and public opinion on natural risks in the city of Francisco de Orellana, focusing on threats such as floods, water erosion and earthquakes. Through surveys, a high perception of risk is identified, especially for floods and landslides. Factors such as sex, age and socioeconomic level also influence the perception of these threats. Most of the people surveyed feel poorly prepared to face these events. Also, concern about climate change and the impact it causes is highlighted, suggesting the need to establish measures to mitigate its effects. The Decentralized Autonomous Government is seen as the main entity responsible for risk management, although respondents evaluate its efforts in risk management as insufficient.
